Team India’s star wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant posted a heartfelt note for his fans via Twitter. Notably, this is Pant’s first-ever reaction on social media ever since his horrific car accident. The25-year-old also shared a vital health update as he revealed his knee surgery was successful.

“I am humbled and grateful for all the support and good wishes. I am glad to let you know that my surgery was a success. The road to recovery has begun and I am ready for the challenges ahead. Thank you to the @BCCI,” tweeted Pant.

“From the bottom of my heart, I also would like to thank all my fans, teammates, doctors and the physios for your kind words and encouragement. Looking forward to see you all on the field. #grateful #blessed,” he further wrote on Twitter.

Rishabh Pant was travelling from Delhi to Uttarakhand when his car collided with a divider near Roorkee. Some locals rescued the cricketer and rushed him to hospital for some trauma treatment. After initially being admitted in Dehradun for a few days, the star player was airlifted to Mumbai for treatment of his knee injuries.

BCCI is yet to officially confirm when Pant will return to playing field but if a report in ESPNCricinfo is to be believed, the wicket-keeper is likely to remain out of action for over next six months, which means majority of 2023, including IPL and 2023 ODI World Cup.
