The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to announce India squads for the ODI and T20I series against New Zealand at home and first two Tests against Australia. Notably, Prithvi Shaw makes his return to India’s T20I squad and KS Bharat gets a call-up to the Indian ODI squad. Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan, who are regular players in white-ball format, are named in India squad for first two Tests against Australia.

In a shocking move from the selectors, Sanju Samson hasn’t been picked in either squads for New Zealand vs India series, perhaps because of doubts over his fitness due to injury. Hardik Pandya makes his return as T20 captain.

Rohit Sharma, after missing Test series against Bangladesh due to injury, returns to lead India against Australia with KL Rahul as his deputy. In what comes as a sad news for Jasprit Bumrah fans, the speedster could not make any squads, not even for all-important Tests against Australia. Wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant’s absence from India’s Test squad has ensured that either Ishan Kishan or KS Bharat will have a debut. Ravindra Jadeja’s inclusion in the squad is subject to fitness.
