India vs Sri Lanka ODIs: Indian cricket team’s senior fast-bowler Mohammed Shami has started preparations to return to action for the upcoming India vs Sri Lanka three-match ODI series, starting January 11. Shami has been out of the team for some time now and the reason behind his absence is his injury.
In December last year, Shami was ruled out of the ODI and Test series against Bangladesh due to an injury. However, the speedster is now fully fit and is ready to make a strong comeback with the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Ahead of his much-awaited comeback, Shami took to Instagram to share a video of his recent practice session. In the video, the bowler can be seen working on his batting in the nets.
Mohammed Shami had earlier made a comeback to team India during T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia after Jasprit Bumrah got injured. The senior bowler has been a regular part of the ODI team, but in the last few ODI series, he has been out of the team due to injury. Shami played the last ODI for India in July 2022, which was against England. After a long gap of over six months, the senior pacer will return to ODIs with the series against Sri Lanka.
India’s squad for Sri Lanka ODIs: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya (VC), Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik, and Arshdeep Singh.
